Fall 2025 3v3 League

Committee & Contacts

For all questions on league play, handicaps, or scheduling conflicts, contact the Committee.

  • First Contact: Trey Battles, Manager — (484) 866-7715 — tbattles@xgolfnd.com

League Costs & Playing Dates:

  • $350 per player, $0 weekly Fee - Cash games will be available to play after league rounds
  • League Play: Monday 7-10 PM (Players may not practice before 7 PM. However, they can use the 3 hours however they choose, including playing after the round is finished until 10 PM.)
Season, Format & Scoring

  • Season Length: 10 weeks total (8 regular weeks + 2 playoff weeks). All teams play 10 weeks.
  • Team Lineup Each Week: 3 players compete for the team. (Teams with larger rosters still field only 3 players weekly.)
  • Matchups: Based on each team’s individual handicap rankings (best vs. best, second vs. second, third vs. third).
  • Individual Points: Best net 9-hole stroke-play score in each head-to-head earns 1 point. Ties split (½ point each).
  • Pre-Play Policy:

    • Players may pre-play once per season if they can’t attend league night. Cost is full simulator pricing.
  •
    • Must pre-play before league night (not after).
  •
    • Player must notify the Committee in advance.
  •
    • If teams need to pre-play more than once, a one-point deduction will be given to each player on the team.
  •
League-Night Points (per team match)

  • 3 head-to-head points (one per individual match) + 1 team net point = 4 total points available.
  • Team Net Point: Lowest total team net score wins the 4th point. Team ties split (½ point each).

Playoffs

  • All teams make playoffs in groups of 4, seeded by highest point totals.
  • Tie breakers for playoff qualification (spot):
  1. Sudden-death playoff — minimum 2 players present.
  2. If a team pre-played >30% of league matches, that team is ineligible for the sudden-death tiebreaker.
  3. HDCPS: Team total index ÷ 9, rounded (.5 up / .4 down); 2 sudden-death holes. If still tied, blind chip-off.
  4. Compare total team net per hole to determine winner as needed.
  • Playoff Courses: Determined at season start.
  • Seeding Tiebreakers:
  1. Regular-season H2H individual match points (3 possible per meeting; exclude team point if applicable)
  2. H2H points (overall)
  3. Team net points
  4. H2H draws
  5. Coin flip

General Rules of Play

  • If any shot is not calculated, it is rub of the green; replay the shot with no penalty.
  • No tees except when using a driver on the tee box.
  • No “C” button (camera) to view putts. Penalty: 1 stroke for use.
  • If a ball is moved off the putting tee, it may not be moved more than 1 inch from the black tee.
  • All putts will be conceded at 2 feet.

Mulligans & Mis-Reads

Mulligans are generally not allowed. They may be permitted only when a system error or unintended stroke occurs. Violations: 1–2 stroke penalty (severity-based); excessive use = DQ.

Permitted scenarios (Mulligan button allowed; no penalty):

  1. Phantom swing/shot registered without the ball being struck.
  2. Hardware error (e.g., “moon shot,” ~200+ MPH maxed ball speed).
  3. Fringe auto-PUTTER setting causes an unintentional club mismatch. (On a second occurrence in the same round, play it as it lies.)
  4. Out-of-turn shot (restore original order; Committee may impose 1-stroke penalty per occurrence).
  5. Spin-camera misread of a quality shot (verify via MENU → ANALYSIS → SPIN tab).
  • Misread indicators: fewer than 3 ball images captured (non-putter) or negative backspin values.
  • Committee may review backspin/sidespin miscalculations and rule as necessary.

X-League Handicapping (Stroke-Play Match)

  • New players must play one 18-hole round at Bethpage (White Tees) prior to their first league night to establish an X-Golf handicap.
  • Players without an X-Golf handicap start the season at 0 handicap.
  • Strokes in Hand (example): Player A (10 for 9 holes) vs. Player B (5) → Player A receives 5 strokes.
  • Maximum difference: 6 strokes between two players during match play.

Player Handicap Calculation (Weekly)

  • Each week, handicaps adjust using a player’s 2 lowest scores from their last 6 league rounds.

    • The highest of those 4 is discarded.
  •
    • If <6 rounds played:

      • With 1–3 rounds: use best 1 score
    •
      • With 4–6 rounds: use best 2 scores
    •

  • Averaging & Slope:

    • Average the used scores vs. par.
  •
    • If the average is positive (above par), multiply by 0.96.
  •
    • If negative (below par), multiply by 1.04.
  •
    • Round index: .5 up / .4 down.
  •
    • This follows USGA handicap methodology.
  •
  • Tees: Men — White/Middle; Women/65+ — Red/Forward.

Substitutes

  • A Maximum of 2 players with an established X-Golf handicap may substitute per team.
  • A sub without a handicap may establish one before the league session they’re subbing (must pay for simulator time).
  • The Committee may exclude a sub from weekly prizes until they’ve completed >2 competitive rounds.

Forfeits

  • If a match is forfeited, the non-forfeiting player must still play to earn a full point.
  • That player competes against par at their handicap +1 stroke. They begin with ½ point, and earn the full point if they shoot one-over their net handicap or better.
  • Team Net Point in a Forfeit: Compare the forfeiting team’s best 2 net scores to the opponent’s best 2 of 3.
  • Teams with 2+ forfeits in a night are ineligible for the team point.
  • Forfeits are highly discouraged.
  • Teams with >1 forfeit in a season may be barred from the next session/season (includes no-show substitutes).

Pace of Play

  • Target finish: Before 10:00 PM for all teams.
  • Bad Time: any team finishing after 10:00 PM.
  1. 1st Bad Time: In-person and email warning.
  2. 2nd Bad Time: Team is put on the clock for the following round (notified in person and by email).
  3. 3rd+ Bad Time: Committee may assess ½-point penalty in standings per bad time after being on the clock.

Standings & Handicaps Reporting

  • The Committee will post weekly standings, player scores, and handicaps before each week’s play.
